1 Peter 5:6-10 says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” – NIV
It’s not always that simple to understand the Holy Spirit’s working to empower you, to be content in your circumstances when you lose a match, and especially if you don’t want to seek the Father’s will for your life and practice getting empowered daily the Spirit.
You train your players very hard, and I’m sure some of your session a very grueling. Somehow, they let you do this, and they think you are somewhat in control of them to get them playing the game better. They ever listen to you and what you have to offer and suggest to make them play at a higher level. You’re empowering them, and they cooperate. When it comes time for you to be empowered by God, through the Holy Spirit, and His heavenly planned for you some coaches struggle. I went through, and I’m sure you do this if you’re going, being honest before your Father. If you’re not sure, think about some of those times when you took over where you should have left it to the Lord. When things don’t go as you planned have you ever become impatient and make the next move by your power and without asking God for help? Come on; I bet you’ve been there and done that several times!
What you go through daily should not be about your timing but God’s perfect timing. If you want He will come through for you and believe me, He’ll be using you in this great game of soccer to the purpose He’s planned for you. Your players will, through you, move to a higher level of thinking, speaking, and actions, all by you allowing God to use you. God loves, and caring for you runs deep and as you humble yourself before Him and leave out pride your efforts in the game will be big time for Christ. If you want the results, He has planned for you and stop doing it all by your power. Learn to live in the moment with the Lord being your partner. The enemy, the devil, is out there trying to change that, but that’s not God’s plan.
What’s your next move?
