Romans 8:29-32 says, “For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like his Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, He called them to come to Him. And having called them, He gave them right standing with Himself. And having given them right standing, He gave them his glory.” – NLT
God has given you a mission, and it’s not an impossible job for you coaching this great game of soccer. He tells us that He’ll never leave us or forsake us, and His promises are real and justified for His purpose in our lives. He wants you to impact others significantly and use the game to serve Him. Most of us, whether we’ve been playing the game or coaching, we’ve had many past successes by the world’s standards and are based on the hard work we do. Work is a natural part of success and part the world we live in. But God wants us to look past our achievements on a higher level of thinking, acting, and repeating successes that impact our players for His significance. The purpose that He planned for you and those you influence for Christ will last for eternity. We’re to remain on this continuous, consistency and conscious course from success to being a significant person because it’s about God not use.
Philippians 4:13 relates the critical concept that it is through Him (not ourselves) that we have the strength for success to be significant. You see, Christ gave up His life so that He could give life to you and that He could live His life through you and in you. We can get all our strength from Him as He promises us. The Lord’s promise in John 10:10b is this: “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full [with great success].”
Know that you’re on lifetime planned journey that God has for specifically designed for you, and it’s a day-to-day process of growing that takes place during our lifetime here on the earth. He wants to fulfill Himself in us as we play the game with the great Counselor, the Holy Spirit who will bring about God’s plan in your life.
What’s your next move?
