James 1:2- 8 says, “When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So, let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.” – NLT
If anything, when we do in life, we must realize having success it takes to persevere, testing of your faith, never give up attitude, enduring through trials and tribulations, being steadfast, using your wisdom wisely, not wavering off course, hard work and real commitment. When we speak of responsibility, it takes more than the hard-physical work, mental and emotional energy. A significant level of spiritual maturity commitment is also needed and required. James shares with us “Let perseverance finish its work, let it be fully developed, so that you may be mature and be complete, not lacking anything.”
If you’re going to serve the Lord with your passions and talents, you need the extra time to commit to your spiritual concerns. Guess what? It’s hard and often a battle, isn’t it? It’s hard not to let your precious time that’s needed to get daily work achieved while at the same time work on your spiritual maturity. The battle is alive and well and so is the idiot that contrives against you, the devil. You can’t go it alone, but you can find that guidance, inner strength, wisdom for your choices and peace comes through the power of the Holy Spirit living inside you. John 16:13 it says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” – NLT
The ability to use your faith, the empowering of the Holy Spirit and trust in the Lord will enable you. When you get frustrated at your boss or co-workers, complaining family, and friends, trusting in the Lord is your way out of confusion. If you’re struggling to find a better way to do what you face daily, you’ll need to start taking some risks and commitment to Jesus’s empowering you. The need for you to make the sound choices beings with being more committed to the Lord, using your faith, remaining committed to Christ, and using the power of the Holy Spirit to believe God will work His purpose through you in the daily grind of life. Remember you were selected to make unique decisions to live for the Lord purposing in your life. Remember what John 15:16 says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to [coach] go and produce fruit [players] that will last. If you do this, I will give you whatever you ask in my name.” – NIV
What’s your next move?
